A message of thanks

On June 10th our lives were shattered and our hearts broken when our little man Bo went home to the Lord. Bo was a very special boy living in a very special community. The outpouring of letters, cards, money donations, food, flowers, not to mention all the love and support we received, pay tribute to that. It would be impossible to name everyone, but please know how much comfort we drew from you all. We are blessed to be surrounded by so much love. To both our families, thank you for all you did. What would we have done without you? To Angie, Tami and families for all the details you took care of. Grandpa Marv and Nana Maureen for taking care of the yard and Tami for her beautiful playing of the trumpet. For my brother Patrick, Dad Brian and Sister Jenna, for flying from England so quickly to support us. To our sister-in-law, Aunty Jo, who was unable to be with us because of her and Patrick's new baby and to Uncle Stuie who took care of things for us at home. We know how much you both wanted to be here for Bo. We love you all. To Karmen for babysitting and to our extended families, thank you. Quite simply, you're the best. To friends and neighbors near and far, no words can convey how much you did for us. Thanks do not seem enough. To Father Fladung and Father Jeff, for the beautiful services. To Lyle and Powell Funeral Home for taking such good care of Bo and our family. To all the members of St. Mary Church and choir, for their wonderful music and food. A special thank you to Edwin Ropp for his beautiful craftsmanship of Bo's casket and to Amanda for singing; you have a beautiful voice and Bo always loved it. To Bo's many doctors, nurses, therapists, caseworkers, home nurses, and all at UICH for his excellent care. Everyone of you helped him live his short life to the fullest and he loved you all. Thank you. To the men and women of the Wellman Volunteer fire Department, Washington County Ambulance Service and UIHC Aircare. This was only one of many times you came to Bo's aid, but sadly, the last. We know what a personal blow this must have been to you all. Please remember all the times you could help him, for those are what matter the most. Another thank you must be said to the Wellman Fire Department for what they did for Bo's final journey here on Earth. Bo would have been tickled by his ride in the fire truck. For all his difficulties, we know he loved adventure and you gave him the ultimate one. He is also now and always will be an honorary Wellman firefighter. How much it all meant to us you will never know. Each and every one of your are not only angels but heroes too. It is true what they say, "Wellman is the little town that cares." We ask you not to weep for Bo-Man but remember his unfailing smiles, happiness and courage. Go forth and live your adventures as he did every day. He has eternal peace with his Lord and no doubt many more adventures to come with his Grandmas Betty and Teresa. He will always be Mister Bo Hammen to us and will remain in our hearts forever. God Bless You All. With Love and the deepest of respect, Marty (One-Man) and Simon Hammen and family
