Bo was born September 13, 2006, to Marty and Simone, at the Washington County Hospital, and was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Bo suffered severe birth injuries and was diagnosed with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) and Cerebal Palsy. HIE is brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen and blood flow to the brain. Cerebal Palsy is a chronic condition caused by brain damage that affects body movements and muscle coordination. Bo was unable to walk, talk or eat normally but he always laughed and smiled, bringing joy and happiness to everyone that he met. Bo enjoyed watching Sponge Bob Square Pants, looking at lights, having his picture taken, travelling with his family, and laughing at everything. Bo lived many adventures in his short life - he would have had many stories!
